Biografi "The Cranberries"

Petama kali band ini diberi nama Cranberry Saw Us. Band ini terdiri dari Dolores O'Riordan (Vokal), Noel Hogan(Gitar), Mike Hogan (Bassis), dan Fergal Lawler (Drummer). The Cranberries mulai terkenal pada tahun 1990-an. Album pertama mereka Everybody Else Is Doing It, So Why Can't We? dirilis tahun 1993 diikuti promo tour yang kemudian membuka jalan buat mereka. Saat dalam tour itulah, MTV tertarik dengan single mereka dan kemudian menayangkan video clip mereka.

Namun baru album ke-2 mereka No Need To Argue lah yang kemudian memetik hasilnya. Album yang berisi single Zombie dan Ode to My Family ini berhasil meraih triple platinum hanya dalam waktu 1 tahun. Album ini adalah album The Cranberries yang tertinggi angka penjualannya. No Need To Argue tercatat terjual hampir 17 juta kopi di seluruh dunia dan meraih 7 platinum.

The Cranberries telah melepas 6 studio album dengan Wake Up And Smell The Coffee sebagai album terakhir yang mereka rilis 2001 kemarin. Tahun 2003 kemarin, The Cranberries memutuskan untuk vakum untuk sementara waktu karena para personelnya yang masih disibukkan oleh solo karir mereka masing-masing.

Zombie

Another head hangs lowly,
Child is slowly taken
And the violence caused such silence,
Who are we mistaken?

But you see, it's not me, it's not my family
In your head, in your head they are fighting,
With their tanks and their bombs,
And their bombs and their guns
In your head, in your head, they are crying...

In your head, in your head,
Zombie, zombie, zombie,
Hey, hey, hey
What's in your head,
In your head,
Zombie, zombie, zombie?
Hey, hey, hey, hey, oh, dou, dou, dou, dou, dou...

Another mother's breakin',
Heart is taking over
When the vi'lence causes silence,
We must be mistaken

It's the same old theme since nineteen-sixteen
In your head, in your head
they're still fighting,
With their tanks and their bombs,
And their bombs and their guns
In your head, in your head, they are dying...

In your head, in your head,
Zombie, zombie, zombie,
Hey, hey, hey. What's in your head,
In your head,
Zombie, zombie, zombie?
Hey, hey, hey, hey, oh, oh, oh,
Oh, oh, oh, oh, hey, oh, ya, ya-a...

Just My Imagination

There was a game we used to play
We would hit the town on Friday night
And stay in bed until Sunday
We used to be so free
We were living for the love we had
Living not for reality

Just my imagination, just my imagination, just my imagination, it was
Just my imagination, just my imagination, just my imagination, it was

That was a time I use to pray
I have always kept my faith in love
It's the greatest thing from the man above
The game I used to play
I've always stood my cards upon the table
Never be said that I'd be unstable

Just my imagination, just my imagination, just my imagination, it was
Just my imagination, just my imagination, just my imagination, it was

There is a game I like to play
I like to hit the town on Friday night
And stay in bed until Sunday
We'll always be this free
We will be living for the love we have
Living not for reality

It's not my imagination, it's not my imagination, it's not my imagination, it was
Not my imagination, not my imagination, not my imagination, it was

Not my, not my, not my, not my
Not my, not my, not my, not my
Not my, not my, not my, not my
Not my, not my, not my, not my

Ode To My Family

Doo, doo, doo, doo, doo, doo, doo, doo

Understand the things I say, don't turn away from me,
'Cause I've spent half my life out there, you wouldn't disagree.
Do you see me? Do you see? Do you like me?
Do you like me standing there? Do you notice?
Do you know? Do you see me? Do you see me?
Does anyone care?

Unhappiness where's when I was young,
And we didn't give a damn,
'Cause we were raised,
To see life as fun and take it if we can.
My mother, my mother,
She hold me, she hold me, when I was out there.
My father, my father,
He liked me, oh, he liked me. Does anyone care?

Understand what I've become, it wasn't my desing.
And people ev'rywhere think, something better than I am.
But I miss you, I miss, 'cause I liked it,
'Cause I liked it, when I was out there. Do you know this?
Do you know you did not find me. You did not find.
Does anyone care?

Unhappiness where's when I was young,
And we didn't give a damn,
'Cause we were raised,
To see life as fun and take it if we can.
My mother, my mother,
She hold me, she hold me, when I was out there.
My father, my father,
He liked me, oh, he liked me.

Does anyone care?... X9
Doo, doo, doo, doo, doo, doo, doo, doo...

Linger

If you, if you could return, don't let it burn, don't let it fade.

I'm sure I'm not being rude, but it's just your attitude,
It's tearing me apart, It's ruining everything.

I swore, I swore I would be true, and honey, so did you.
So why were you holding her hand? Is that the way we stand?
Were you lying all the time? Was it just a game to you?

But I'm in so deep. You know I'm such a fool for you.
You got me wrapped around your finger, ah, ha, ha.
Do you have to let it linger? Do you have to, do you have to,
Do you have to let it linger?

Oh, I thought the world of you.
I thought nothing could go wrong,
But I was wrong. I was wrong.
If you, if you could get by, trying not to lie,
Things wouldn't be so confused and I wouldn't feel so used,
But you always really knew, I just wanna be with you.

But I'm in so deep. You know I'm such a fool for you.
You got me wrapped around your finger, ah, ha, ha.
Do you have to let it linger? Do you have to, do you have to,
Do you have to let it linger?

And I'm in so deep. You know I'm such a fool for you.
You got me wrapped around your finger, ah, ha, ha.
Do you have to let it linger? Do you have to, do you have to,
Do you have to let it linger?

You know I'm such a fool for you.
You got me wrapped around your finger, ah, ha, ha.
Do you have to let it linger? Do you have to, do you have to,
Do you have to let it linger?
